Using the Metro (subway) and buslines is an ideal way to visit
Paris.
Before purchasing your tickets, we would suggest considering
the number of days you'll be sightseeing in Paris and how many
times per day you'll be using public transportation. If you plan
on staying within the Paris city limits, you will only need a
ticket for Zones 1-2. La Defense and St. Denis lie within Zone
3. Airports lie within Zone 5.
A single ticket is valid for one journey and can be used on the
Metro, RER, Bus and Tram within Paris and its immediate suburbs.
Single tickets are sold either individually or in packs of 10,
called a 'carnet'. A carnet is a booklet of 10 single tickets.
If you are familiar with the network and you know
what ticket you are looking for, try our ticket vending machines
which will save you a lot of time.Otherwise, you can buy your tickets
in any Metro, RER or Bus terminal ticket counters.
